ICMAD Honors Students



The Independent Cosmetic Manufacturers & Distributors Association (ICMAD) announced the winners of its 2001 ICMAD Young Designers competition at an open board meeting and dinner held in November in New York City.

Established in 1999 to encourage and develop young creative talent in the cosmetics industry, the competition showcases the design talent in personal care packaging.

Dozens of entries from students at six schools of design were received and judged by a panel of design and cosmetic experts including: Jerome Berard, president and creative director of Berard Associates; Allen Burke, director of beauty for QVC; Geoffrey Donaldson; president, The Sea Change Group; Annette Green, president, The Fragrance Foundation; Greg Lukasiewicz, president and creative director, Lukasiewicz Design Inc.; and Kenneth Noskin, director of package innovation, Coty U.S.

Brad Adamic, from Columbus College of Art & Design, Columbus, OH, was awarded the first prize of $2500. Tia Romano, of The Fashion Institute of Technology, New York, received the second place prize of $1500. Bo Ram Kim, from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, took home the third place prize of $1000.
